Chairs and 20th Century Design

Feb 29 - Mar 18
Details:

This exhibition will explore the evolution of design in the 20th century, spanning from Art Nouveau and Bauhaus to Mid-Century and Italian Modern. Serving as guides, this exhibition will present a carefully selected collection of 100 masterpiece chairs from the collection of chair specialist Noritsugu Oda. Additionally, we will delve into the relationship between design and life by including tableware, kitchenware, home appliances, office equipment, and more.

When exceptional designs come to life, they are intimately linked to the sociability of the era and people's lifestyles. Behind the beauty of form and the surprises lies the designer's passion to envision a better future.

These timeless 'masterpieces' that shape eras and continue to radiate brilliance are truly transcendent. Bringing happiness to those who use them, are beautiful examples of lifestyle design born from human endeavors.
