Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced systems that allows delivery partners to on board, schedule delivery times, guide them through their deliveries with in-app, and more. The Amazon Flex team is looking for an analytical, data-driven, result-oriented Marketing leader to deliver growth and scale of the Flex program in Japan and Singapore. The role will be extremely commercial and analytical, consistently using insight to optimize our approach to how we engage with our customer and audience. This role requires an understanding of technologies and data/analytics expertise and will incorporate establishing, implementing and communicating clear marketing metrics/KPIs, against which marketing performance can be monitored and measured. This is a highly visible role that requires partnering with a cross-disciplinary team of program managers, ops managers, marketing managers, data scientists, engineers, product managers, finance partners and executives across the Flex and AMZL business. The right candidate has successful experience in results-driven marketing, an unbridled passion for technology, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The leader should thrive amidst ambiguity, make high judgement decisions, and be an inspirational leader of teams.

The successful candidate in this role will demonstrate ability to balance customer research, data analysis, project and senior stakeholder management, and written / verbal communication. You must have sound business judgment and the ability to think strategically with a long-term vision about this fast-growing space, while being able to execute on tactical details. You will be leading a team of 12+ Marketing Managers.

This role requires a high level of writing, judgement, influence, and ownership. You will lead with data to persuade others, own and develop strategic partnerships with internal and external customers. This means, you must be an excellent communicator and write engaging narratives and present them effectively. You will be required to routinely build from the ground up and deliver the right things with limited guidance.


Responsibilities

  • Use data to rigorously assess channel effectiveness, prioritize marketing tactics based on business requirements, and develop an effective marketing mix to achieve application and hiring goals
  • Collaborate with Driver Sciences to provide insight on the value of different audience groups, and how we can prioritize our investment in specific areas to fast track growth
  • Develop the website to elevate product and propositions effectively
  • Build a profitable model for broad reach, upper funnel marketing, including the team and capabilities to achieve this
  • Design and execute a disciplined investment program working based on driver insights to utilize marketing science including well-structured controlled experiments, attribution and econometric modelling
  • Create and deliver best in class tracking and measurement and reporting to provide confidence, transparency, and executive investment governance
  • Lead the planning, procurement, configuration, management, and deployment of new technical capabilities, and for their use as accelerators to deliver incremental marketing impact
  • Establishing an ‘always on’ testing plan for broad reach activity considering the role of audiences, channels, messaging
  • Develop metrics and measurements to determine campaign effectiveness, including partnering with technical teams to implement performance measurement automation, attribution and channel optimization
  • Ensure a best-in-class on-boarding experience matching delivery partner and station needs, reducing the dwell time of candidates and improving the conversion of candidates through the on-boarding lifecycle
  • Design and execute a governance and performance rhythm across Marketing which is data led

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Business level of English (written, verbal)
  • 10+ years of experience in Growth Marketing or Marketing Operations
  • 8+ years experience in a people manager role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (such as pivot tables, macros, index/match, look-ups, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with marketing automation tools (Marketo & Adobe Analytics preferred) and online analytics packages

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Business level of Japanese (written, verbal)
  • Deep experience in a range of marketing channels, can develop and deliver an omni channel strategy which will have a business impact
  • Highly analytical and confident with numbers both in analyzing the performance of discreet activity, but also identifying longer-term trends, drive decisions and problem-solve
  • Effective financial management of budgets and budgeted targets
  • A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility and proven success delivering measurable marketing results
  • Strong execution skills, including simplifying tasks, developing plans, establishing owners and timelines, and status reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (decision narratives, investment proposal and/or PRFAQ experience a plus)
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to influence, work cross functionally, build relationships with key stakeholders and thrive highly collaborative fast paced environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to establish marketing direction and set vision across the entire organization
  • Extremely well organized and detail oriented
  • Deadline driven
