To help us fulfil this mission, we are looking for an experienced and driven marketer to lead our brand and service marketing efforts in Japan, a customer-obsessed marketing mind who loves to operate at start-up speeds, solve some of the hardest problems and help build a service that customers truly love and prefer. We are seeking a consummate brand builder with a proven record of building world-class consumer brands. A results-oriented, creative, and digitally savvy brand marketer to help deliver on our brand development priorities, the Sr. Brand & Service Marketing Manager will be responsible for strengthening PV brand salience and supporting exceptional growth of the service across customer cohorts. This person will be a brilliantly talented strategist with a passion for deeply understanding customers and translating that knowledge into actionable results. This person must bring together their right- and left-brain acumen to uncover insights and creative inspiration to help find new perspectives on the Prime Video brand and service and what it means for customers.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable thinking strategically, working as an individual contributor, generating and executing creative marketing ideas that drive growth, customer consideration & preference for our service. Strong candidates will have experience working at leading marketing organizations and have deep experience with branding, digital marketing channels, and go-to-market plans. She/he can make complex, information-based decisions and will thrive in an environment that values thinking big, taking risks and diving deep. The ideal candidate will embody & inspire a positive, high-energy and results-oriented culture & know how to manage multiple milestones in a fluid, fast-moving environment.


Responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role. As the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support local and regional marketing leadership and work closely with cross-functional (marketing) teams to build a strong, locally relevant Prime Video brand strategy.
  • Design marketing initiatives and campaigns that deliver to our brand goals, new customer acquisition or engagement objectives and lead deployment of these initiatives with a time-bound cadence.
  • Lead customer marketing for new Prime Video initiatives such as Channels, Rent/Buy etc.
  • Use a mix of insights and innovations to create compelling service narratives. Translate internal and external research into insights that power advertising strategies
  • Support creative development and delivery of marketing assets across Amazon owned platforms as well as ATL paid media & social channels. Liaise with a wide-range of external partners (creative agencies, production partners) in creating & deploying our marketing campaigns.
  • Own the brand governance charter for PV JP ensuring our brand guidelines are followed across marketing
  • Overall stakeholder management – leading document reviews and providing periodic updates to internal and external audiences.
  • Work closely with counterparts in other Amazon teams (including across locales) to share best practices on strategy, initiatives, and execution

A day in the life

Reporting to the Head of Brand & Service Marketing, APAC, the Sr. Brand Marketing Manager owns the brand & service marketing charter for Prime Video Japan, and works directly with internal teams and external partners on marketing execution to help grow our brand. You will leverage consumer insights and operational understanding to deliver marketing campaigns, promotions and initiatives that delight and engage entertainment fans. Your ability to earn trust and your clarity of vision and communication, in both writing and speaking, will help us deliver on our ambitious growth goals.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Business fluency in Japanese

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and written, with an ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • You have success creating and executing strongly differentiated positioning and segmentation strategies for consumer products/categories that have met or exceeded business objectives.
  • Deep experience in ATL media strategy, planning and execution
  • Strong planning skills with a proven record in creating big brand/communications ideas with rigorous and robust analytical skills.
  • You have proven experience planning and developing digital brand and media campaigns across key channels that support customer acquisition objectives
