Responsibilities
How will you make an impact in this role?
Develop effective brand strategies and impactful multi-media integrated communication ideas, steward activations and produce remarkable business results for the American Express brand. Lead and coach a talented team to deliver an orchestrated consumer journey and provide vision to the broad team on marketing through a communications lens.
Brand Strategy
- Translate the global American Express brand strategy into successful local brand strategy which supports the company to achieve business goals.
- Be a connective tissue between central and local business unit. Gain strategic alignment with central and local LOB key stakeholders on key initiatives.
- Transform the solid brand strategy into focused creative concepts, then to bold expressions.
Brand Stewardship
- Act as a conduit of the brand. Ensure branding consistency and coherency across touch points. Lead branding approval committee (MAC) and compliance.
- Lead and support key LOB initiatives to ensure successful achievement of the business objectives in line with the brand strategy.
- Develop impactful local creative assets and guideline, manage inventory.
- Provide training and consultation to raise branding and marketing capabilities across enterprise.
Communication Excellence
- Develop brief, lead development process and production of ATL, BTL, traditional, digital and social creatives.
- Develop best in the class marketing capabilities through inspiring, coaching, training, and mentoring.
- Provide guidance, consultation and approval for the marketing communications of other LOB
- Manage the company’s marketing messages overall, ATL, BTL, website (contents, SEO/SEM, and UX/UI) to best represent the brand in a cohesive manner
Consumer insights
- Monitor, review and report brand health KPI, and synthesize the learnings into consumer insights and update LOB.
- Coordinate with the central insights, lead designing and fielding of global studies.
- Stay current on market, competition, and trends including analyzing current marketing tactics, concepts, practices and procedures.
Media planning
- Develop effective holistic media plan to support business and brand objectives and manage performance.
Lead quarterly integrated marketing planning for HQ's approval, and manage monthly reporting.
Budget Management
- Manage ATL and BTL budget for efficiency and effectiveness.
Agency Management
- Identify and manage creative agencies and operations partners for best expression.
- Lead multi-agencies team (IAT) and orchestrate for the best results
- Monitor and evaluate performance, guide and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
Required Background
- Experience and expertise in brand communication strategy, creative development and management, and media planning across media: ATL, BTL, traditional, digital including social
- Traditional brand marketing / strategic marketing experience
- People management experience
- Working experience for the global brands, partnering with the headquarters/central functions
- Deep knowledge of range of creative evaluation methodologies
- Keen sense of language and design
- Management of multiple partners/agencies
- Professional network access to topnotch creative talents strongly preferred
