Our main portal, Bjak.com, helps millions find the insurance policy with the best value and highest coverage for them. Our investments in technology such as Custom API, trading systems and data science is to enable easy access to financial services that were previously inaccessible or difficult to understand. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing full-stack engineering team tailored for the Japanese market, fostering their growth and technical excellence while nurturing a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Collaborate synergistically with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate our visionary aspirations into a practical, actionable roadmap for the Japan branch.
- Forge close partnerships with product, operations, and organizational leaders in the Japanese market, championing the evolution of our technology platform to meet evolving business needs and match the dynamism of technology trends.
- Ensure seamless alignment with key business stakeholders in Japan, effectively managing local and offshore resources and dismantling obstacles to achieve strategic business objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations specific to the Japan branch, orchestrating local and multiple offshore development teams with precision, ensuring the cohesive delivery of software on time and within budget.
- Sustain a climate of innovation in the Japan branch, motivating the entire team to deliver not only within timelines but also with an essence of constant creativity.
Qualifications
- MS/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields with strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
- 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience, including hands-on coding.
- 3+ years of professional engineering management experience, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Programming experience and understanding of modern technology, including: (ReactJS/React Native, NodeJS, Kubernetes, GCP, MongoDB, Docker).
- Experience managing cloud operations for reliability, scalability, and security in GCP/AWS.
- Proven success in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding engineering talent in the Japanese context.
- Strong sense of responsibility, driving initiatives from inception to completion.
