Job Description

The candidate’s mission will support the Global Real Estate Department (APAC), which is headquartered in Singapore to lead the establishment and integration of Workplace Strategy into Bytedance’s corporate culture and brand identity with an understanding of local uniqueness, impacting strategic plans, capital, and operational projects, corporate procurement, and quality and service standards. This role supervises and leads the external creative teams, for both new developments and renovations, in addition to guiding the design direction, for all project design activities throughout the project life.


Responsibilities

  • Based on existing Bytedance design guidelines, requirements from end-users as well as past ByteDance overseas project experience, the candidate is expected to drive the documentation for Bytedance global design guidelines with the help of the design team from Headquarters.
  • Gather market intelligence regarding design trends for office interior design.
  • Work side by side with in-house PM to lead the office interior fit-out projects from design and development, tender, construction, and handover. e.g. Integrating workplace design programs into projects from inception to implementation, focusing attention on the inclusion of design excellence, workplace requirements, and directives when setting objectives, project scope, build standards, and during procurement and evaluation processes (e.g. project charters and consultants’ scope of services).
  • Be informed of the agreed budgetary and schedule objectives, and ensure the designs are reflected and meet internal requirements.
  • Deliver individual project presentations at the geography and global level.
  • In partnership with a Transaction Manager, Project Managers, Facility Managers, and Branding manager as well as with outside consulting teams to ensure business and brand objectives were met.
  • Make necessary site visits and attend design meetings to gather/disseminate information and execute decisions.
  • Lead and supervise the preparation of the design tools (Concept Book, Lighting Book, MEP/Low Voltage book, Maintenance book).
  • To start with digital information and metrics across all office locations (desk reservation and occupancy data and tracking).

Qualifications

  • Completion of a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in commercial office interior design, especially design experience with tech companies is preferred. Candidates with first-tier design firms are an advantage.
  • Meticulous, organized, good negotiator, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, including having the flexibility to adjust and react to changing priorities
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder engagements and vendor relationship management is an asset
  • Team Player: Contribute to positive team culture.
  • Highly motivated (a self-starter) and excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to travel within the region and provide on-site real estate support.
  • Design software enables such as Revit, CAD and etc.
