Senior Software Engineer - Business Applications

Job Description

This person is responsible for supervising Application development, testing, maintenance, and support for business applications especially related to integration/EDI and system interfaces. S/he will manage technology and software development projects in accordance with DevOps principles; Ensures continuous, high velocity delivery and automated deployment through the use of software provisioning, configuration management, source code management and all the system interface/integration related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Providing software application Development, integration and interface creation and management between surrounding systems
• Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements & replacements
• Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications
• Consulting with the software development vendors, internal users to improve application performance
• Establishing the root causes of application errors, and escalating serious concerns to the Senior Engineer or to the service provider to resolve the issues in a timely manner
• Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates
• Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics
• Providing front-end support to business users and colleagues in other departments
• Writing scripts to automate task, Create RPA BOTs, EDI processes, gather & transform data from business applications and make it ready for Power BI and/or GCP platform
• Provide training and support creating updated manuals for business users as required
• Act as a technical lead for the forthcoming ERP replacement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• At least 3 years of experience leading/managing projects (including vendor negotiations, communication with business users, etc.) as a tech lead
• Experience in Application System Development and Operational Support, 3-5 years
• General knowledge of business applications and databases (Microsoft SQL Server/SQL/DDL, etc.)
• Knowledge of the retail industry is preferred: Experience in supporting e-com, POS and CRM related omni-channel platforms
• Experience and knowledge of Python, C#, JavaScript, R, .NET, Java, etc.
• Experience and knowledge of PowerShell
• RPA (Automation Anywhere/Power Automate etc.) development, implementation and support experience is preferred
• Knowledge of system integration, ETL/EDI is preferred
• ERP knowledge (SAP, JDE/Enterprise One, etc.) is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
• Strong ability to multi-task
