The eCommerce functions for Japan hotels is clustered into a specialist team based in the Tokyo Regional Corporate office.


Responsibilities

What will I be doing?

Digital Content

You will be the digital marketing expert who oversees the online content publishing on behalf of the Hilton managed Japan hotels. You are responsible for delivery of hotel content across all online channels. To execute this, you oversee the Digital Content team members who interface with the hotels and execute hotel online content requirements. You take initiative to formulate and execute projects that support and improve the efficiency of the content management workflow. The sites you manage content for cover all Hilton-operated local Japan sites (supporting Rooms, MICE, weddings) and domestic 3rd party OTA and F&B sites.

User Reviews

The position remit also includes oversight of the User Review members who respond to reviews on behalf of hotels. You work closely with and provide functional support to Corporate teams (Source Market, Revenue Management, Sales, Destination Marketing, Dining Marketing, Loyalty) and ensure Corporate strategy and direction is implemented at hotel level.

More specifically, you will:

  • Being the functional expert in Japan for all digital content management (across hotel.co.jp, hiltonmicejapan.com, hiltonwedding.jp) and user review related topics
  • Understanding trends and developments in both the digital content and user review space and applying these insights
  • Handle content across all agreed sites: local hotel sites, hiltonmicejapan.com, hiltonwedding.jp OTA sites and 3rd party F&B sites, following the established quality and timeline expectations as set out in the cluster SLA with hotels.
  • Monitoring the content workflows, managing team workload and efficiency and interfacing with hotels to manage expectations
  • Proactively monitoring and managing hotel content requests to ensure alignment with Corporate strategy and brand guidelines
  • Managing the Digital Content and User Review members and ensuring the right tools, platforms and training are in place to deliver ongoing quality and efficiency
  • Overseeing the tagging regime across all managed sites and ensuring tracking flows into the Corporate data lake
  • Ensure an SEO strategy is in place, aligned with global direction and oversee any agency support as required
  • Taking initiative and ownership of projects as required, aligned to Regional and Corporate strategy
  • Interfacing with Source Market Manager to ensure hotel website environment maintains consistency with the Regional brand site
  • Managing the relationship with local web agencies to ensure Hilton’s requirements are met, the server is stable across business cycles and issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Budget management where required
  • Any other ad-hoc projects as and when required

Direct Reports: Digital Content members, User Review members; at team of 8. 


Qualifications

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Ability to manage stakeholder relations across Hilton business units
  • Sound understanding of the role of eCommerce/Digital Marketing within the general marketing effort
  • Specialist knowledge of HTML, CSS and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator)

To fulfil this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor degree
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5-7
  • Minimum Years of Specialist Experience: 5
  • Management Experience (type): 3 (Managerial)
  • Language: native Japanese
  • Additional Requirements (i.e. % of travel time, etc.): From time to time, you will visit Japan hotels and/or participate in Regional meetings throughout Japan

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Education: Additional specialist qualification
  • Language: business-level English
