Job Description:


Responsible for ensuring the delivery of the MEP Design for all projects, including new build, re-stack, and refurbishments of office accommodation and Business Critical spaces. The role involves interfacing with the client organization to collate business requirements into the project brief, delivery of the MEP design documentation to allow tendering, procurement, and award to respective contractors, review, and approval of shop drawings and submissions, monitoring of works on site, testing and commissioning and hand over to the business operational teams. The MEP Design Manager will work with key stakeholders with the Japan local/regional client and JLL organizations and a network of design partners to effectively perform the role within Japan and contribute to the overall successful management of the account across the Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide a project statement of requirements/brief to allow external consultants to provide their proposals.

  • Work with the appointed external consultant to ensure they provide MEP design solutions that meet the project delivery process, the brief, Client design guidelines, and local code requirements in the time dictated by the project schedule.

  • Attendance at regular project meetings

  • Work with the Project Management team in tendering the MEP design scope. Review contractor proposals to assist in the recommendation for contractor awards.

  • Assist in the shop drawing, equipment submission, and approval process to enable works to continue to meet the schedule requirements.

  • Monitor the MEP installation works throughout the construction phase of the projects and identify issues of non-compliance where appropriate.

  • Assist Project Management teams in drafting submittals for regulatory clearances and statutory compliance related to MEP systems as needed.

  • Assist and provide inputs to Project Management teams in drafting and approval of Testing and Commissioning requirements, checks, and protocols.

  • Arrange and facilitate ‘Hand Over To Operations’ training for Workplace Operations (Facility Management) teams from contractors, system, and equipment OEMs and ensure these are recorded and maintained for reference.

  • Ensure MEP as-built drawings and documentation is signed-off and handed over to the workplace operational team.

Qualifications:


  • A highly skilled professional

  • Hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design consultancy or design management roles.
