Your Job
As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible to design W/B, W/W connectors with FEA analysis for general market or to design high-speed connectors based on the customer requirements.
You will provide technical expertise in connector design to not only internally but also outside like customer and manufacturing vendor and collaborate closely with global cross functional teams for the project execution.
Our Team
PSBU Engineering has bases in the US, India, Singapore, Shanghai, Japan, and Korea. And our team in Japan and Korea has responsibility of "Signal area" with focusing on the less than 2.5 mm pitch for General Market.
We are contributing to the expansion of profits and sales by new product developments and technical support for our core product families that can cover various markets and applications by wide range of features.
Responsibilities
Concept Design and Development
- Support set the project scope, clarify the requirements, and feasibility confirmation
by understanding customer needs. - In the Execution of the concept development activities, expected to provide concepts that are manufacturable, cost effective, & meet customer requirements.
Develops & communicates mitigation plan for areas of risk.
- Execute DFMEA, FEAs, Tolerance Analysis and other theoretical studies as the Design Verification.
- Execute the technical reviews with internal and external customers using more effective communication such as creation of the document or online meetings in Japanese and English.
- Lead the technical portion in the projects as an engineer to completion.
- Confirm the result of the product validation and feedback to the design.
- Knowledge sharing and joint development with PSBUs at other bases.
Production and Customer support
- Support to solve the inquiries and issues from customer.
- Support for the production change in the mass production status.
Qualifications
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Understanding of the product development process.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering specifications.
- Knowledgeable about materials properties and selection criteria for product components, considering performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Written communication skills in English.
- Self-driven and eager to learn.
- Alignment with the PBM philosophy.
What Will Put You Ahead
- 3 to 5 years of experience in product design.
- Ability to make decisions independently and negotiate with stakeholders.
- Eager to improve the oral communication skills in English.
