Social Media Manager (JP)

As the social media manager in Japan, you will help build and execute the social media strategy, initiatives, and projects for the world's largest technology company. Working with the Local and Regional Program Manager, you will support all things social — from always-on content and social-led campaigns to influencer activations and event amplification — by leading the day-to-day operations as well as content development and community management for the Japan brand channels. As a social media strategist, project manager and community manager, you will wear many hats. Thus, the ability to analyze trends and situations quickly and pivot effectively is as critical to this role as deep audience understanding to build long-term strategies and plans.


Responsibilities

  • Support social marketing activities for the Japanese market, both always-on content, community management and campaigns
  • Working closely with and partnering Program Manager, lead social media content strategy, and development, including editorial calendar, copy review and publishing for the Japanese markets
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and agencies to source assets, including images, videos, copy and design
  • Be the filter for the Japanese market, ensuring regional programs are optimized for the local market
  • Build and manage strong relationships with Creators in Japan throughout various verticals to increase authentic advocacy and brand love
  • Support the Program Manager in performance reporting, social media audits and competitive analyses

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing preferred, or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience in tech, marketing or related industry
  • A passion for social media and content development
  • Ability to communicate effectively – in written and verbal forms – in English and Japanese
  • A strategic and creative thinker who is able to navigate around an always-on social landscape
  • Solid project management experience
  • Proficient understanding of social media analytics
  • Experience with a social media publishing tool like Sprinklr
  • Ability to bring order and attention to detail to complex stages of each project
  • Prior experience with communicating with local and geographically dispersed stakeholders to deliver clear instructions and messaging
  • Passionate about working as part of a larger team to deliver a common goal
