We are currently seeking the Android Engineer to accelerate the growth of our dating and matchmaking service "Pairs."
You will be responsible for the entire process of planning, developing, and releasing new features and improvements for Pairs. This role will also be expected to contribute to ongoing enhancements to the Android app development.
Responsibilities
1. Android app development for Pairs
- You will be involved in projects for developing new features and improving existing functionalities of the app;
- The projects follow the Scrum development methodology, emphasizing speed and efficiency;
- We expect everyone to proactively drive initiatives, not limited to development tasks.
2. Continuous improvement for ongoing development
- You will be responsible for driving necessary improvements to ensure continuous development and maintenance;
- We expect you to stay updated with the latest trends and incorporate relevant advancements into the app.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Attitude of driving projects with a collaborative mindset;
- Strong commitment to improving programming skills and knowledge for the purpose of enhancing quality and development efficiency;
- Experience in Android app development using Java or Kotlin;
- Experience in app development utilizing asynchronous programming with considerations for re-entrancy, such as data retrieval and updates through Web APIs;
- Business-level or above proficiency in Japanese language.
Welcome Requirements
- Business-level or above English proficiency for effective communication;
- Experience as a tech lead or architect in Android app development;
- Experience in releasing personal apps;
- Experience as an open-source software (OSS) developer.

Employment Type
- Regular employee (probationary period: 3 months)
Salary
- Base salary + 45 hours of deemed overtime + bonus / To be determined according to our company's regulations, taking experience and ability into consideration.
- Salary increase: Salary increase will be determined once a year based on regular interviews with the supervisor.
- Bonus: Paid once a year according to the level of contribution to the company's performance.
