Job Description

This is a permanent position. But we are also open to contracting if the candidate so desires. This position requires N3 level or more Japanese language skills. This position is open ONLY to people already in Japan.

We are looking for highly motivated software engineers who can solve problems together, think about big problems such as scalability and availability, and ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo. We are looking for a Frontend Engineer with the following competencies.

Responsibilities

• App development for users, delivery staff, and stores


• Front-end development tailored to various functions of the service


• System design according to new functions of the service


• Implementation of behavior according to the action of the application


• External service and API integration


• Development of a library to implement the required native functionality


• Research and implementation to optimize app performance

Qualifications

• Ability to work in an international, but primarily fully immersed Japanese language environment is required. JLPT N3 or higher is preferred. You speak Japanese to converse effectively with internal and external parties


• Application development experience with React Native / React.js / Vue.js


• Experience in developing native applications for smartphones


• API development/operation experience using the server-side framework


• Knowledge and experience related to communication such as real-time updates


• Team development experience in Agile / Scrum


• Knowledge about service platform/development experience/operation experience


• Communication ability to carry out service development in collaboration with engineers, PMs, designers, planners, and QA

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in developing browser applications using WebGL


• Experience in developing applications for smartphones


• Experience developing server-side applications


• Team development experience in Agile / Scrum


• Experience in publishing and contributing to OSS projects


• Game knowledge / development experience / operation experience


• Experience as an engineer manager, project manager, or team leader
