Job Description

Money Forward is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build and maintain the e-invoice platform based on Peppol, which is an EU standard for exchanging electronic documents such as invoices. This is a role for software engineers that are familiar with standard frontend and backend architecture, cloud services, and capable in database design and interaction.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of frontend and backend services.
  • Work to optimize existing systems for scalability and performance
  • Ensure code quality, best practices, and documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in backend technologies to drive innovation continually.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate our microservices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record of developing complex web applications as a Senior Software Engineer.
  • Team player with a penchant for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  • A shared belief in Money Forward's Mission/Vision/Values/Culture.

Required Skill-set

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and running cloud services with one or several of Rust, C++, Go and Java.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn Rust.
  • Hands on experience building and maintaining REST microservices using NoSQL storage or RDBMS such as MySQL.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and modern web/cloud development practices.
  • Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages.
  • Experience with a continuous integration workflow and using source control (we use git).
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable code. Domain-driven design experience is a plus.

Good to Have Skill-set

  • Solid experience with Rust and Java.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Apache Kafka.

About the Company

“Money Forward Cloud ERP” is a cloud-based composable ERP (modular ERP) that has our own SaaS applications for business back-office operations from Accounting, Finances, and Human Resources fields as its module applications.

Our team is developing Public APIs and API platforms for those products. Public APIs enable our ERP to offer a high degree of integration with other third-party applications. This allows our customers to build a more comprehensive view of their operations and data across different functional areas and systems. Also by designing commonly used API platforms, we aim to improve UX and development productivity.

Salary Range 

Min 6,500,000 - Max 9,000,000 Japanese yen / year (Gross)
*Including fixed overtime work allowance of 45 hours for regular, non-legal hours, legal holidays and 40 hours for late-night work.

Location, Hybrid Work

  • As a standard practice, a minimum of 2 days work from office attendance is mandatory, designated as team office days. Additionally, employees are encouraged to spend 3 or more days in the office.
  • The specific "team office days" may vary depending on the assigned team.
  • This policy may be subject to change based on the company's needs and work circumstances.
