WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for a Lead, Digital Marketing Jordan in Tokyo, Japan, who is a digital native, creative, and interested in sports and culture. We are looking for someone with the flair and creativity for great marketing, storytelling, and consumer experiences. We want an innovative thinker who has an intimate understanding of the digital platforms and emerging spaces our consumers consume and interact, as well as the role they play at the pulse of culture and during sports moments & milestones or high-heat product drops. Being passionate and knowledgeable about Jordan Brand would be highly appreciated.

The ideal candidate should be able to manage multiple projects and build strong working relationships. They should be detail-oriented, organized, work collaboratively, and have a positive attitude. They should be solution-oriented, a team-first collaborator, energy giver, digital thinker, passionate about sports, and curious to learn. It’s important for this candidate to be fluent in Japanese and English and have solid verbal/written communication.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

On any given day, you will partner with the Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) Geography and Japan territory teammates to deliver seasonal marketing campaigns on our owned digital channels. You’ll collaborate and align various internal & external stakeholders across the local marketing teams and agency partners to drive Jordan brand awareness, distinction, and connection with our consumers in the digital space. You will also be responsible for mining consumer insights and market trends, develop seasonal go-to-market campaigns across our digital touchpoints (Nike App, SNKRS, .COM, and Marketplace Partners), and share plans and information with World Headquarters’ (WHQ) teammates in Portland, Oregon to ensure sharp alignment to key priorities.

You will translate brand, athlete, and seasonal strategies into marketing plans & executions to drive a consumer journey for our brand priorities resulting in commercial outcomes and building long-term consumer loyalty. You will also serve as a creative thought partner to find new ways to attract, activate & retain new and prospective members. 


Responsibilities

Managing the Jordan Brand in the Nike digital ecosystem (Nike.com, Nike SNKRS app, Nike App, Jordan Mode, Targeted Communications, Social Media) and marketplace partners digital channels, inclusive of a full understanding of existing and future capabilities. You’ll develop an annual and seasonal digital marketing strategy including the programming 13-week journeys and orchestrating communications across owned channels, executing best-in-class Online-to-Offline (O2O) go-to-market plans in the digital ecosystem. While you ideate and build new consumer experiences/opportunities at scale, you’ll also lead reporting and sharing of Digital Marketing Success KPIs on owned channels. 

Partnering closely with Brand Marketing, cross-channel, and Retail Marketing teams you’ll co-develop Online-to-Offline (O2O) marketing plans to enable connected journeys across the ecosystem. Working closely with Territory and Geography teams on the delivery/execution of new digital capabilities and innovative test and learn pilot programs. Additional responsibilities include mapping out key dates & gates ahead of a season and deliverables per project/campaign with Brand Operations, including creative outputs for platform distinction with Brand Creative, and leading and implementing an accelerated digital offense with the Consumer Direct Digital Commerce team (NDDC).

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will be the point person for the Tokyo, Japan office and report to the Senior Manager, APLA Digital Marketing, who is based at WHQ in Beaverton, Oregon, U.S.A and have a dotted reporting line to the Nike Digital Marketing Director in Japan.

You will partner cross-functionally with business, marketplace, merchandising and communications, teammates in Japan and the APLA Geography. Additionally, you will partner and work closely within the marketing function across brand marketing, retail, media, and creative to best bring seasonal stories to life while fueling consumer demand and establishing brand distinction and connection with our consumers. In this role, you will also partner with external digital marketing agencies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing or related experience in marketing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Japanese) including meeting facilitation and making strategic recommendations and persuasive presentations to cross-functional team.
  • Digital Marketing expertise, bringing strong digital acumen and experience in digital owned platforms.
  • A Strong understanding of full funnel marketing as well as working knowledge of digital platforms including Apps, E-mail, .com, Paid media, & Social is required.
  • Detail oriented and results oriented. This position requires someone who can plan ahead, think analytically, and develops recommendations for ideas or services. Strong analytical skills and proven capability to use data to drive business decisions & marketing optimization also required.
  • A team-first mindset and high interest for Jordan Brand, Basketball, and sneaker culture. Ability to collaborate in high profile matrix-oriented environment across various business functions required.
  • Experience in working an integrated marketing offense on a Global led and/or Geography/City led level.
