WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a Lead, Energy Brand Marketing Jordan, to be a key player in our mission to redefine sports culture in Tokyo and to revamp Jordan’s relevance on the edges of the Japanese culture. We are looking for someone who is well connected with who/what is influencing our consumer and based on that can suggest innovative, imaginative, and resourceful ways to create plans, solve problems and take the Jordan brand into new territories. The ideal candidate is a cultural insider and strategic thought leader with a keen knowledge of the most relevant and authentic cultural leaders, influencers, and partners who resonate for Jordan Brand, with experience managing and intersecting these relationships into brand plans. This talent should have deep knowledge of the streetwear landscape and its key players and places, as well as experience in developing strategies to position products and create an impact in culture.


Responsibilities

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

You will lead the Jordan brand's intersection with local culture and the most relevant and authentic cultural leaders, entertainers, and partners to deepen and elevate the brand's connection with Japan’s cultural landscape and amplify it across the globe.

As part of your core responsibilities, you will identify, build, nurture and manage relationships with key partners from streetwear, art, entertainment and fashion including cultural influencers, entertainers and sneaker specialty retail doors. You will develop strategic plans for these partnerships, localizing the Global and Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography Energy & Entertainment Marketing strategy, partner portfolio playbook and seasonal briefs.

Together, with your partners you will grow and establish new partnerships while maintaining the health of our existing roster, driving connections with key communities to seed, ignite, and scale the love for our brand. You will lead the creation of journeys, manage calendars and negotiate contracts across products, services and experiences for key partners, collaborating with cross-functional teams to activate and execute. You will make presentations to drive inspiration and collaboration, while leading meetings, ideating and communicating direction. You will also manage a studio space and a product seeding offense, while being responsible for managing a budget with the operations team to ensure we maximize our resources and deliver on time.

Success will be measured through the impact, brand heat and plans you will generate and develop, as well as through consumer recognition and product demand.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

In this role you will report directly into the Senior Manager, Energy Marketing of the APLA geography, based at Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, United States. You will dotted-line report to the Lead, Brand Marketing Japan - Jordan Streetwear in the Nike Tokyo Office. You will collaborate cross-functionally across diverse teams including Jordan, Nike and other Global and Geography partners including Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Retail Marketing, Integrated Media, Brand Planning and Operations, Sports Marketing, Communications and Legal. You will manage talent relationships and professional services to meet the scope of local projects aligned to our brand priorities. You will partner with our Japan Marketing leaders, the APLA geography and Global Brand Marketing teams across Jordan to elevate talent and build more effective and efficient ways to drive brand impact. This includes integrating talent into strategic planning, brand storytelling and product collaborations and aligning with Merchandising and Marketplace business functions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience combining education and experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications or related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in marketing, delivering integrated marketing plans and execution.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (in Japanese and English).
  • Culture expert with a strong connection and deep knowledge on people driving relevant cultural trends and impact in sport, art, design, fashion, entertainment and streetwear.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and experience on how to manage these relationships with key internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of how to lead and execute cross-functional marketing campaigns.
  • Domestic and international travel required for relationship management and experience activation for 20% of the time.
