About the role 

We’re looking for a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communications Manager to lead our PR and communications strategy in Japan. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact by defining how Kraken Technologies is seen and understood in the region.

About the team 

You’ll work closely with our global communications team, as well as regional and global business units, to execute on ambitious PR and marketing plans. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Japan's market landscape and the ability to deliver impactful messaging that resonates with local audiences.


Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture media relationships: Develop strong connections with key journalists, digital platforms, and broadcast media in Japan.
  • Regional PR leadership: Act as the go-to expert for PR trends, opportunities, and developments in the Japanese market.
  • Craft compelling messaging: Create, localize, and execute press releases and broader communications strategies that align with Kraken Technologies’ global goals.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with global teams, including Marketing, Business Development, and Operations, to ensure consistency and impact across all communications.
  • Monitor industry trends: Stay ahead of developments in the renewable energy, green tech, and digital transformation spaces to identify opportunities for impactful storytelling.
  • Contribute to global strategy: Work with the global communications team to align regional efforts with Kraken Technologies’ global messaging and goals.

Qualifications

What you'll do

  • PR expertise: Proven experience in public relations within a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Local market knowledge: Deep understanding of Japan's media landscape, cultural nuances, and marketing opportunities.
  • Bilingual fluency: English (at least business level) and Japanese (native level), with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Strategic mindset: Ability to connect PR efforts to broader business and brand objectives.
