Job Description

Our Head of PR, Social and Influence proposition covers the full spectrum of earned media engagement, Social Media and Influencer work. This is a head of Department role.

Working closely with wider Account, Creative and Media teams this role integrates into the wider agency operations with a specific focus on growing client needs in new media management.

Leading a team of specialists and a dedicated team at the Agency the scope of this role encompasses Business, Team and Client Leadership with a dedicated focus on effectively managing Social and Influencer activities from celebrities all the way to micro influencers and you will be directly responsible for the leadership, project management and execution of PR, Social and Influencer marketing campaigns across this spectrum.

With a blend of left and right brain thinking, you will be results orientated and help strategically develop and lead ‘best in class’ ongoing Social First engagements clients across Japan that integrates into the overall strategy (owned, earned & paid channels).

You will partner with Strategists, Media Directors, Creative and Operations teams in this role.

This role is for you if you are able to manage complicated in-market and multi-market clients and stakeholders, enjoy pitching and winning new business.

Have experience with managing PR and Social campaigns for complex brands across various categoris in the past you will have an in-depth knowledge of paid media, e-commerce and various key tools, such as Sprinklr, Meltwater, Brandwatch, Klear, CreatorIQ, Traackr and Profiler - to name a few, as well as other in-market specific tools.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about Social, PR and Influencer marketing and understands all the fundamentals in paid, owned and earned media dynamics.


Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • You may be required to travel from time to time for client assignments and new business briefs.
  • The most important part of this role involves effectively leading client partners to new realms of modern consumer engagement. While partnering with more traditional partners across different disciplines this role requires a dedicated style of leadership that is willing to lead clients through uncertainty as they approach different marketing challenges, but to do it with confidence and assurance that impactful outcomes can be achieved despite sometimes being a new approach to market.
  • You’ll also be responsible for innovation, thought leadership and constantly driving the team to deliver solutions and products that our clients need.
  • You also need to identify potential opportunities, risks and solutions for the team on an on-going basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated team of professionals including Account, Strategy, Craft and Operations members on a portfolio of clients operating in an earned media / social first environment.
  • Lead on market new business pitches and work with Influence lead in the region to support on multi-market Influence pitches.
  • Provide senior counsel to clients, advising on industry developments as they occur and showing relevance for clients on the ground.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of Social & influencer campaigns in Japan with supporting managers and executives, from identification, creative, implementation and reporting.
  • Design and define the role of PR, Social and Influencer strategy within client partner’s wider marketing plans: recommend objectives, targets, action plan, calendar and budget.
  • Aligning and collaborating with media, PR, social, brand activation, digital and all other stakeholders – internal and external to deliver best in class campaigns for our clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with cultural/social trends and customers’ views and attitudes.
  • Supports the regional Influence lead and team in the development of thought leadership initiatives, new Influence offerings and promote our innovations across the business, including writing thought leadership and speaking at industry events.

Qualifications

  • Passion for PR, Social and Influencer marketing with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the PR, Social and / or Influence Marketing & Communications field.
  • Degree qualified.
  • Possesses a high level of new business development proficiency with a proven track record of converting clients and achieving growth.
  • The ability to guide clients and teams effectively through ambibuity and change, while remaining objectively focused on the tasks at hand.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Self-motivated, action-oriented and ambitious with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • A keen interest in all things social/PR/digital and an avid follower of relevant news & trends
  • Japanese and English business level and above
