Responsibilities

The Pure PM is tasked with overseeing projects in their own portfolio to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders, Pure and Account team leadership.

You will be expected to lead projects from initiation through implementation including phases such as planning, analysis, design development, implementation and through to project closure.

 A Project is defined as a unique endeavor with a defined end result that requires project management skills to deliver successfully. The Pure PM works with the Engagement Manager or Services sales to confirm project requirements, priorities, and deadlines. 

As a PM you will work to ensure the project is completed in accordance with all risk, timelines, architecture and other relevant firm wide guidelines. Coordinates resources (staff, equipment, vendors and consultants) across one or more projects. 

Manages budget for assigned project(s), monitors project progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly

Critical to the success of this role will be the setting and management of customer expectations, in regards to project scope, the Pure Storage delivery model, stakeholder roles and responsibilities, timelines, escalation and change management-processes, communication and risk management plans

Coupled with accountability for compliance with Pure Storages revenue recognition rules and policies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads technical infrastructure projects from initiation through implementation including phases such as planning, analysis, design development and implementation.
  • Establishes project requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ensures project is completed in accordance with all Regulatory, Risk, Architecture and other relevant firm-wide guidelines.
  • Coordinates resources (staff, equipment, vendors and consultants) across one or more projects.
  • Manages budget for assigned project(s), monitors project progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly.
  • Communicates progress to top management and modifies schedules as required.
  • Negotiates with clients, staff and outside vendors as required. Establishes quality and performance targets.
  • Assists in reporting the impact of projects and effectively communicating the impact on the organization
  • Provides as needed input into the program management office based on lessons learned
  • Analyzes project financial performance and report on findings or trends

Qualifications

  • Strong creative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills to manage programs and develop new business
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills for interacting with and influencing team members, clients, thought leaders, and globally recognized subject matter experts
  • Strong human relations skills to select, develop, coach and mentor employees
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written both Japanese and English
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management in an external Customer-facing environment,
  • Excellent problem solver; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be enthusiastic, action oriented, capable of independently solving complex workflow problems, and able to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the data storage industry, understanding of the technology, workflows, 3rd party integration and other components in an enterprise storage environment
  • Experience in a Customer Satisfaction focused environment

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related subject area and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minor in Information technology is preferred
  • PMP Certification is highly preferred

  • Project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, Power Point and MS Word
  • KeyedIn, Smartsheets
