Job Description

The Role: Engineer III, Software Development

The Location: Tokyo, Japan

The Team: The team adopts SPGI agile development framework called SAFe and is one of the global Scrum Teams. Develop and maintain Japan local business applications as well as global applications.

The Impact: Deliver business applications and its functions to align business strategy as well as support their day to day operations in timely manner. Collaborate with other Scrum Teams to leverage best practices and shared knowledge/component.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze complex software data and information to provide insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations
  • Perform complex analyses and articulates solutions
  • Aid in the development of new products, services or technologies. Knowledge of multiple software languages
  • Design underlying engineering for use in multiple product offerings and support large volume of end users
  • Design, develop, and integrate multiple hardware and/or software operating systems
  • Can perform task breakdowns. Code has relatively few structural issues. Can debug applications
  • Demonstrates object oriented skills. Implements defensible coding strategies
  • Develop project plans for less complex projects. Understand SPGI agile framework by fully complying with its standard work and tools

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience or certification
  • 5+ years experiences in Agile application development
  • 3+ years experiences using Java programming language and related frameworks
  • 3+ years experiences using DevOps tools with deep understanding of DevOps concept
  • 1+ years experiences using C# programming language and related frameworks
  • Experiences using TypeScript programming language
  • Create advanced SQL statement with joins and/or subqueries to extract desired data from database
  • Basic understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Business level Japanese and English language skill (verbal and writing)
  • Experience in supporting all application development tasks in the software engineering process

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years experiences in leading small software development team (3+ members)
  • 3+ years experiences using Java programming language and related frameworks
  • 3+ years experiences using C# programming language and related frameworks
  • 1+ years experiences of Database Administration
  • Understand the “Clean Architecture” and utilize it for designing the system or refactoring the code
  • Experience in supporting all application development tasks using agile software development methodology
