Job Description

The Role: Product Manager, Product Management Business Development

The Location: Tokyo, Japan

The Team: Credit & Risk Solutions (C&RS) is part of S&P Global Market Intelligence, dedicated to providing products and services in credit and other risk categories which intersect credit. 

Credit Solutions (CS) is one of the four sub-groups under C&RS, and is fully dedicated to the commercial distribution of proprietary data published by S&P Global Ratings. It distributes credit ratings and related data, analytics and research via direct data feeds and web-based desktop platforms. Products include RatingsXpress, RatingsDirect, and CreditPro.

The Impact: As a member of the Credit Solutions APAC team, the candidate will become the regional expert for the feed products provided by Credit Solutions, with a heavy focus on the technologies and underlying data. The role contributes to the business by executing go-to-market activities, providing technical expertise to support pre and post-sales activities, and holding training sessions to increase product awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expert on feed products for the APAC region
  • Collaborate with global product management colleague to drive the business, with a heavy focus on Japan
  • Assist/Collaborate with New Business Sales to support closing deals
  • Assist/Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Desktop & Channel Solutions when technical/data expertise is requested by clients
  • BAU activities to support the business

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Language Proficiency: Japanese (native or fluent), English (business level)
  • Understanding of the unique business practices in Japan
  • Proficiency in DMBS/SQL
  • Strong understanding of REST API
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming experience, especially using web technologies and REST APIs
  • Experience working with financial institution in Japan as a market data vendor
