Job Description

The purpose of the Media Manager Role is it is about planning effective and efficient media and buying it cost-effectively to accelerate your business.

It is necessary to understand each brand's consumer journey and make the optimal media selection for each touchpoint.

Media here includes digital media including SNS, traditional media including TV, and digital performance media that contribute to EC traffic and conversion.

Responsible for creating media briefs for media agencies based on brand strategy and product launch strategy, implementing briefs, and progressing planning in a timely manner. She/he will also be responsible for leading communication strategy planning and ensuring that the brand and product story reaches consumers at all touchpoints. He/she will be responsible for implementing addressable media strategies

She/he will be in charge of media for all brands operating in Japan. Therefore, she/he must have a deep understanding of each brand's consumer and media insights.

She/he must review and report on media performance in a timely manner for each campaign. It is necessary to take action to quickly apply the knowledge gained from this to subsequent plans.

Especially for EC performance media, she/he needs the insight and agility to check progress with media agencies on a daily basis and quickly implement efficiency corrections as needed.

She/he is also responsible for managing and reporting on the management of the media budget with her/his superiors.

Also, she/he will also lead and manage the development of digital content and digital campaigns in collaboration with the Brand Contents team. In doing so, she/he will make maximum use of his media knowledge to achieve effective output for target consumers.

Triumph is a world leader in Intimate Apparel. Across Japan, Triumph is a key supplier to GMS, Department Stores, Retail stores, outlet stores and eCommerce, and has growing DTC strategy.

What she/he will be doing

  • The Media Manager accelerates business and contributes to improving brand image by providing optimal media plans and buying for target consumers based on the latest media information.
  • Obtain the latest media information, both online and offline, and provide information to the team and other members as necessary.
  • Lead the media performance review and report with timely manner
  • Lead the planning and execution of effective digital content and digital campaigns at touch points in accordance with the consumer journey defined by the Brand Content team based on the brand or product launch strategy.
  • Lead the digital contents or campaign review and report with timely manner
  • Jointly establish and foster a collaborative, inspiring and energetic leadership style that promotes initiative and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Create and maintain powerful cross-functional relationships with Brand Team and Consumer Engagement teams (Digital Marketing and Membership Program Management) allowing for a collaborative approach to the execution of the Marketing Plans and a joint accountability to central plan
  • Support an annual budget planning process
  • Support for medium- to long-term marketing planning
  • Fully manage the media budget in each Brand and EC performance media

Measures of success / KPI

The Media Manager will be measured on his/her ability to:

  • Develop and implement strong media marketing and growth strategies that yield the desired outcomes/ROI
  • Media performance; CTR, conversion, ROAS, EC traffic
  • Store traffic
  • Market share
  • Brand equity score; brand awareness and 1st mention

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years+ experience of succefully handling Media Planning & Buying especially for TV Commercial & other forms of Paid Media (Online & Offline) in Japan market.
  • Proven track record in managing & directing Advertising Agency partners.
  • Extensive consumer and competitor understanding
  • 3 years+ team management/leadership experience in a large market.
  • Media planning experience: both offline and online
  • Experience with media strategies & campaign concept development, and media setting KPIs and tracking ROIs.
  • Experience managing a media agency
  • Cross Functional expertise and leadership to make alignment
  • Solid marketing experience, background in working at both HQ and Country level is preferred. Additional product management experience is a plus.
  • Advertising agency or media agency experience is a bonus
  • Experience in beauty / innerwear/ apparel business is a bonus
  • Strategic thinking and commercial minds
  • Strong people management and development skills
  • Proven ability to lead complex and multi-functional teams
  • Project management skillset
  • High drive + result orientated
  • Educated to degree level +
  • Fluent business language skills in Japanese and English (JLPT N1 minimum)
