Job Description

We are looking for a [graphics designer] to join our Presentation Design team working on site at the client’s office. Our client is one of the top global investment banks in financial industry, developing B2B presentations to win a deal pitch.

The candidate should be comfortable communicating with internal clients to understand their concepts and interpret them visually.

Presentations are frequently created in the brand of third-party companies in various industries (clients of the client); therefore, candidate should be able to shift gears and adapt to different brands/aesthetics. The ability to work quickly and meet deadlines is key.

As a [graphic designer], you will be part of a small team (3–4 members), primarily responsible for creating cover designs for materials following the instructions of a senior designer. The senior designer will be accountable for quality control. Once you become proficient in your role, you'll be expected to take on tasks such as refining content slides and providing guidance to the DTO operator.

Eligible candidates are graphic designers who have 5+ years of professional experience (or equivalent) and expertise using Adobe Creative Cloud (CC).

The presentation designer will use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft PowerPoint* to create presentations incorporating designed cover, infographics, charts and diagrams.

*PowerPoint skills and techniques will be fully trained in a team for the long-term.

We’re looking for an experienced business professional who can proactively enhance their design skills and work with enthusiasm in an international work environment.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Produce high-quality presentations and documents, adhering to established Firm brand guidelines
  • Understands importance of brand and can work within established standards
  • Can interpret complex ideas visually
  • Create and revise customized graphics (e.g., maps) as necessary
  • Awareness of current design trends
  • Adaptability and willingness to pitch in where needed
  • Knowledge of print design a plus
  • Knowledge of Excel for charting is a plus
  • HTML5 understanding and basic coding skill is a plus.
  • Basic movie editing skill (such as adding captions) is a plus
  • Financial industry experience a plus
  • Working experience in the Windows platform is a plus

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree related to functional work or equivalent experience in a fast-paced production environment
  • 5+ years graphic design experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Products and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent client-facing and written communications skills
  • Time-management skills
  • Ability to problem solve, analyze potential solutions, and use good sound judgment to make decisions
  • Strong attention to detail is required 

Language Qualifications:

  • Japanese: Business level (N2+)
  • English: Basic reading required (TOEIC 470+)

Most communication within the company is conducted in Japanese. The use of English is limited to instances such as reading company-wide emails sent to all employees and is not used for work instructions. There are almost no occasions for making phone calls in English, but it might be necessary when contacting the IT department. In such cases, staff proficient in English will provide support.
